Marianna Winter Announces Debut Album "The More You Know" Out On May 29th, Via Tutl Records
Following a string of acclaimed singles, Faroese-via-Los Angeles singer Marianna Winter returns today with "Feels Good To Be Needed," the third single from her eagerly anticipated debut album "The More You Know," out on May 29th, via Tutl Records.
Balancing vulnerability with sharp self-awareness, the track explores the intoxicating pull of being someone's everything. Driven by a dirty, gritty drum beat, lusting vocals, and unfiltered lyricism, "Feels Good To Be Needed" captures the paradox of devotion: the comfort of belonging wrapped in the pressure of expectation.
Marianna shared “Spending your time giving someone else what they need - listening, showing up, staying available - can become a way of avoiding your own emotions and unmet needs. Combined with the rush and sense of purpose that comes from being chosen, relied on, and admired, it's a feeling that can quickly become addictive.”

With this release, Marianna continues to reveal the emotional landscape of “The More You Know” - an album that explores growing up, growing older, and growing wiser. "The More You Know" is not just a debut — it is a portrait of growing pains, a home recording that throws open the door to the past. Blending indie folk, pop, and rock with moments of intimate bedroom pop, the album was written and produced by Marianna alongside Ragnar Finsson, and carries the warmth of an old analogue recording: honest, a little distorted, but with a feeling that remains crystal clear. Like lying under a duvet while the wind howls outside, it is at once comforting and quietly unsettling - an invitation to sit with all the imperfect pieces of yourself. Featuring shimmering string arrangements and lyrics that linger long after the music stops - including "Patio," nominated for Song of the Year at Faroese Music Awards 2026 - "The More You Know" will be released on May 29th
ABOUT MARIANNA WINTER
Born in Los Angeles and raised in the Faroe Islands, Marianna Winter creates music that bridges two worlds — the rugged, windswept landscapes of the North Atlantic and the vibrant energy of California. This duality defines her sound: dreamy yet grounded, intimate yet expansive, rooted in alternative pop and indie pop-rock.
Marianna first stepped into the spotlight with her 2019 debut single "For Real This Time," followed by her 2022 debut EP Sorry I'm a Libra, praised by Bands of Tomorrow as one of the year's "Most Important Albums" and featured in The Line of Best Fit. Her single "Consequences" premiered on Clash Magazine alongside a Quentin Tarantino-inspired music video directed by Trygvi Danielsen, solidifying her as a bold creative voice.
Since then, she has performed at international festivals including The Great Escape, G! Festival, and Iceland Airwaves. Singles "Cruising," "People Pleaser," and most recently "Patio" have steadily expanded her reach, with the latter earning placements on Spotify's New Music Friday DK and Apple Music's New Music Daily. A feature on Jazzygold's track "CAKE" (now available in a Baddies Edition) further cemented her profile, landing on both Spotify's New Music Friday Denmark and New Music Friday Iceland.
Now, Marianna turns her focus to her debut album The More You Know, due May 29th. Written and produced alongside her long-time collaborator Ragnar Finsson, and influenced by the likes of Chappell Roan, Fleetwood Mac, Saya Gray, The Japanese House, and America, the record promises lush soundscapes and honest lyricism that explore themes of growth, vulnerability, and transformation.
