Million Moons Recreate Great Nile Migration On Epic New Single ‘Thundering Footsteps’ Released 9th June 2026
Fast-rising London post-rock outfit MILLION MOONS are pleased to reveal their new single ‘Thundering Footsteps’, set for release on 9th June 2026 via all good digital service providers.
The track is the latest to be taken from their third studio album, You Be Good, I Love You, which will be released on 26th June 2026 via an international independent label network including Ripcord Records, Dunk! Records, A Thousand Arms Music, and AnGoal Music (China).

Continuing the album’s theme of anthropomorphising each track on the record to represent a particular animal, ‘Thundering Footsteps’ pounding war drums bring to mind the epic Great Nile Migration. The largest land mammal migration in the world, it sees millions of antelope—including white-eared kob, Mongalla gazelle, tiang, and Bohor reedbuck—searching for water.
Commenting on the new single, drummer Solomon Radley says: “Our producer, Lewis, deserves a lot of the credit for how this track came out. The drums sound massive – from the ‘war drums’ in the intro through to the cantering ride cymbal groove that sees the song to a close. Lewis also had the idea to layer on the analogue synth sounds in the outro, which really add to the richness and make the climax that much more satisfying.”
Guitarist Freddie Locock-Harrison continues: “This is definitely one of the most dramatic pieces on the album. It’s also one of the most technical! It’s taken a lot of practice to get this one ready to perform live, but it’s so satisfying when we really ‘lock in’ and nail the tricky sections. I can’t wait for people to hear it.”
An ambitious concept record dedicated to the animal kingdom, You Be Good, I Love You invites listeners to reflect on the nature of consciousnesses other than our own. The album title is a reference to the poignant last words of Alex the Parrot—an African grey parrot who was studied extensively by scientists, and learnt to communicate with his handlers.
Across eight carefully woven soundscapes, the band deploy their signature blend of soaring guitars, glittering keys, and bruising drums alongside new additions, including saxophone lines and a live church organ.
Produced by Lewis Johns (Rolo Tomassi, Slow Crush, Employed To Serve, Loathe) at The Ranch in Southampton, forthcoming new album You Be Good, I Love You stands on the shoulders of the band’s previous two records, taking listeners on a journey that is richer, deeper, and more expansive than ever before.
‘Thundering Footsteps’ follows on from previous single ‘Last Days Together’ and lead single ‘Black Sun Rising’—named Track of The Week at PROG Magazine—which were released earlier this year, picking up further support from key underground tastemakers at The Line of Best Fit, Buttonpusher DIY, Post-Rock Nation, Already Heard, Maximum Volume, Noizze, It’s Not A Phase, Echoes & Dust, and more.
Following a rapturously-received set at Ripcord Festival earlier this year, the band recently announced a run of summer UK album release tour dates, with tickets on sale now, plus an appearance at Crowded Festival this October (see below for listings).
