Moli returns today with the anthemic ‘Bring On The Rain’, her first taste of new music for 2023
Berlin-based, Belgium-raised rising pop icon MOLI returns today with the anthemic ‘Bring On The Rain’, her first taste of new music for 2023. Inspired by the emotional shifts in MOLI’s hormone cycle and how they feed into her struggles with mental health, ‘Bring On The Rain’ matches self-referential lyricism with a striking musicality imbued with nostalgic influences from everlasting 70s pop through to 80s soft-rock.
Speaking on ‘Bring On The Rain’, MOLI said - "I am a very emotionally driven person that tends to feel in the extremes. I found myself going through phases where I would question my entire life, feel extremely anxious and view everything from a very negative perspective to feeling pure joy, excitement and motivation. I felt very confused when the down phases would happen as I just wouldn’t feel like myself. Being in my early twenties I started to look deeper into the impact that my cycle and hormones were having on my mood and I put the dots together that the way I was feeling was linked to it. That gave me quite a lot of clarity and reassurance. PMS is a term I found out about only in the past few years but it now feels like such a big part of my life. Although very challenging I now know that these irrational down phases are only temporary and when it hits me, I know there is a light at the end of the tunnel. There’s sun behind the grey cloud. That’s the message behind ‘Bring on the Rain’, feelings are temporary. You can’t always run from them. Sometimes you just have to sit with them until they wash over. It will get better.”
The release of ‘Bring On The Rain’ follows a huge 2022 for MOLI that saw her collaborate with revered Swedish songwriters and mentors Cheiron Productions (Backstreet Boys, Boyzone, *NSYNC, Britney Spears) to record her ethereal take on Westlife’s iconic 90s hit ‘Fool Again’. The release comes after MOLI performed the track to celebrate her win at the inaugural Denniz Pop Awards in the International category. MOLI joined the hallowed ranks of songwriters honoured by the awards including the likes of Snoh Aalegra, Tove Lo, Mabel, Avicii and more.
Artist and songwriter MOLI (born Molly Irvine) is one of the most exciting emerging pop artists on the global scene.
