Molly Annelle Reveals Video "Never Better"

Vancouver’s Molly Annelle shares the video for her latest single “Never Better (feat young friend)” today. At just 17 years old, the celebrated Vancouver singer/songwriter continues to take the musical world by storm with news of her debut album. Combining the essence of dream pop and R&B, Elevator Music is produced by renowned producer and artist Louise Burns.

The second single from Elevator Music, “Never Better (feat. young friend)” takes a look at the kind of empowerment that can only come from facing things head-on. “Feeling "never better" is like the holy grail of existence,” says Molly, “achievable if you work through bad times. Although worries might still exist, they subside, and all those troubles you've experienced serve to make you feel more powerful and more accepting of all former versions of yourself.” The video sees Molly and young friend go on a Pulp Fiction dress-up, driving, dancing date. They take on the characters of Mia Wallace and Vincent Vega, and also take on Vancouver in a cool retro mustang.

Molly’s journey began at the tender age of five, when the Vancouver-based songstress penned her very first song. Molly was named Young Composer of the Year, writing four-part harmonies for the Vancouver Chamber Choir at just nine-years-old. Encouraged by family and teachers alike, the young musician found her voice in the kind of honest lyricism and devoted storytelling which has continued to set her apart.

In 2018, Molly unveiled her EP Pick Me Ups, a chillwave and electronic/dream pop offering, which she also produced. Taking on a behind the scenes role was important to Molly, who can’t help but relish the chance to have a hand in every part of her personal musical journey. It was the kind of drive and ambition that happened to catch the attention of 604 Records’ Jonathan Simkin, resulting in her label debut, “Winter Waves”, a Christmas anthem which has garnered almost 200,000 streams on Spotify alone.
