Moody Good Creates Mind-Bending Dubstep Single Drenched With Filthy Grit via "Get Splashed" on Bassrush Records

UK heavy-hitter Moody Good is a bass music mastermind renowned for his unrivaled sound design and boundary-pushing approach. Making his debut on Bassrush Records comes the gritty dubstep anthem “Get Splashed.”

Drenched in his trademark filth, “Get Splashed” showcases the classic Moody Good sound but with a few new tricks up his sleeve. Raw hip-hop vocal samples are chopped, screwed, and distorted, and, in turn, unlocks a new level of low-end debauchery that is only amplified by the ever-changing production. Perfectly distorted sub-bass leads and ominous melodic flourishes are stacked against one another, resulting in an exceptionally eerie introduction. The drops see blistering bass squawks and squabbles exchange with a wonky call-and-response, as grungy drum hits back it up. Midway through, an unsettling transition simulates tuning into an alien transmission, which sees the frequency shift before unloading another barrage of dark dubstep sorcery. The outro allows the ominous undertones to creep to the forefront for a spine-tingling dismount that allows space for the punchy percussion to knock over the distorted vocals before the darkness fully consumes the sound. “Get Splashed” is a sound design séance that summons haunting spirits from another dimension.

Moody Good is the brainchild of the venerated bass producer Eddie Jefferys, who first built his name as one-half of the legendary duo 16bit. His decade-long project has transcended genres with a drive to experiment with awe-inspiring soundscapes, off-kilter influences, and unrivaled sound design. He is fresh off collaborations with Hamdi and Zeds Dead, drawing support from BBC (Jack Saunders, Sarah Story, Jeremiah Asiamah), Illenium, Thys, and Four Tet. Moody Good is in the midst of a run of dates including stops at Apocalypse Festival, Red Rocks with SLANDER, Wakaan Festival, and headline shows at Monkey Loft and Sound Bar, in addition to stops at Marquis Park City and McCormack alongside Hamdi.
