Mujeres releases new album Marathon

Brand new installment from our favorite rockers from Barcelona, still preaching the good garage rock religion, but they are now tending to drift away from their main influences and showing us that they really have a knack for good hooks and catchy melodies,

let’s call it rock or even punk rock in the very true and noble sense of the word. Some say Mujeres is a tornado on stage, well it looks like they managed to catch this heavy wind on this Marathon record...

Mujeres are four friends from Barcelona (Pol, Yago, Martí and Aitor) who have spent the last 6 years playing all over Spain, Europe and the USA. In their first releases they focused in approaching the sounds of bands like Black Lips, Jacuzzi Boys, Jay Reatard, Thee Oh Sees and many others. In their latest releases though Mujeres have proved a different angle among their sound drawing a new line upon the genre. Nevertheless we can affirm Mujeres are a garage band liable to find the conjunction between classy harmonic vocals, dirty riffs, infectious and psych guitar solos and jangly beats. As a result from that mixture their festive and fresh sounds that bring us to what the 13th Floor Elevators, The Sonics, The Velvet Underground, The Modern Lovers or Los Saicos did in their times. After two LP's and a couple of ep’s, they're ready to launch their new album, Marathon.

Some of the countries they visited besides Spain are: Portugal (Optimus Primavera Sound in Porto), England (The Great Escape in Brighton, and several venues in London, Liverpool and Manchester), Holland (Eurosonic, Incubate), Italy (Here I Stay Festival,), France (Europavox Festival, París and Lyon, ), Belgium (Nuits Botanique, Dour, Micro Festival,...), Germany, the USA (SXSW, and a US tour) and Canada.

Mujeres is the spanish band that played the biggest amount of shows ever at Primavera Sound Festival.
