Muse are excited to announce an innovative world first with CryptoKitties: the creation of two blockchain-secured crypto-collectibles, including a limited-edition Kitty ‘signed’ by the band. The characters are inspired by the vast, immersive creative visual world that Muse constructed for their most recent album ‘Simulation Theory’, which was the band’s sixth straight number one studio album in the UK.

The two characters are called Marty and Mibbles. Marty is inspired by Matt Bellamy’s transformation during Muse’s ‘Something Human’ video, and fans will recognise Mibbles as the mini-monster who caused chaos in the video for ‘Pressure’. Each crypto-collectible is edition-authenticated by the band and available for a limited amount of time.

Exploring new technology has always been at the forefront of what Muse do. 2016’s ‘Drones’ world tour featured fully autonomous flying drones and last year’s even more ambitious ‘Simulation Theory’ world tour harnessed VR-enabled enhanced experiences. The shows were dubbed a “dizzying rock spectacle for the machine age” by The Guardian and a “balls-out bombastic blockbuster of musical theatre” by NME.

The most expensive Kitty to date was stored in the Celestial Cyber Dimension, an art piece with analogue and digital components which Christie’s in New York auctioned for 140,000.
