Music On Vinyl launch Vinyl Base

Music On Vinyl have recently launched a new sublabel called Vinyl Base, specifically targeted at youth and young adults. Vinyl Base is set to release its first compilation lp in collaboration with Universal Music on July 30th: Song Education, an lp that highlights music from popular TV shows such as Sex Education, Stranger Things and Riverdale. It features songs by renowned artists such as Limahl, Roxy Music, Duran Duran and Elton John.

Vinyl Base focuses on releases that cater mainly to youth and young adults. The label is in close contact with the recently established vinyl community Flip It!. In doing so, parent label Music On Vinyl hope to excite young music fans about the charm of vinyl and to attract a new generation of vinyl enthusiasts.

Music has always played an important role in TV shows. It can create a vibe, tension, a romantic atmosphere or a certain setting in time. With the wide range of shows currently being offered by the growing number of streaming services, their audiences are discovering bands and artists, old and new, more than ever before.

Song Education brings together some of the pivotal songs from these series, with additional background info on each of these artists for educational purposes. But mostly, for listeners to enjoy these often re-discovered songs in the most romantic way to experience music: on a beautiful vinyl record. Song Education is a new compilation that features the music from the most popular streaming- and tv shows. Thanks to these shows these bands and artists, ranging from the 60’s and onward, are being rediscovered by a whole new young audience.
