MXGPU (Moullinex & GPU Panic) Announce Debut Album 'Sudden Light'
Live electronic duo MXGPU, the collaborative project of Portuguese producers Moullinex and GPU Panic, release their new single “take me home” today, offering the first glimpse of their forthcoming debut album Sudden Light, out September 26 via their own label Discotexas.
A powerful blend of synthwave and electronica, “take me home” is a soaring, emotional anthem born spontaneously in the studio and quickly became a staple of the duo’s immersive live sets. The track captures a universal longing for belonging, transcendence, and a return to the self, delivered with cinematic scope and a cathartic drop that’s primed for the dancefloor.
“‘take me home’ was born in just a couple of hours. What started as a fleeting idea quickly transformed into a full song, and from the moment we began playing it live, we knew it was a golden gem. The response from the crowd was immediate and overwhelming—What’s the name of the one where you sing ‘take me home’? When is it coming out? This track sounds like the soundtrack of my life! It was clear that we had something unique on our hands, and the excitement from fans only confirmed that.” — MXGPU
Known for their 360 live shows, MXGPU brings together club music, performance art, and sci-fi aesthetics to create full-sensory experiences that dissolve the boundary between performer and audience. Drawing influence from Suzanne Ciani, James Turrell, and SEGA loading screens, MXGPU’s work explores what it means to be human in an increasingly digital world.

MXGPU is Luís Clara Gomes (Moullinex) and Guilherme Tomé Ribeiro (GPU Panic), producers, composers, and performers based in Lisbon. The pair first collaborated when GPU Panic joined Moullinex’s live band on guitar, eventually co-writing “Painting By Numbers” on Moullinex’s 2017 album Hypersex. Since then, their music has appeared on respected imprints including Crosstown Rebels, Watergate, and TAU, remixed by names like Patrice Bäumel, Xinobi and Sebastien Léger, and supported by international tastemakers such as &ME, Adriatique, and RÜFÜS DU SOL.
With Sudden Light, MXGPU further crystallizes their vision: electronic music as a vessel for connection, vulnerability, and collective release.
