New album from Swedish rock band Mother Mersy - 'From Above' - Out now!

Mother Mersy's powerful debut album is based on a lot of pain and hard work. Their music ranges from dirty up-tempo rock n 'roll to melancholic, psychedelic ballads from a place where old school 70's rock meets contemporary rock n' roll. Or as the band themselves put it: "As we think rock n 'roll should sound 2022; energetic and soulful, without apologizing". The songs have been created through hard work and fragile, genuine emotions mixed with humor and attitude, by creators who never hesitate to approach the ugly and raw.

When they talk about their debut album, the band says: "This is a powerful first album, which we have been working on for almost three years. There is a lot of pain and emotion in this material, so it feels so damn liberating and good to soon be able to show "We are incredibly proud of ourselves, that we have fought on even though it has been difficult several times and an upcoming "divorce" has been in the air."

The lyrics testify to a process of change. There are songs like Your Thing, where the main character slides through life and meets a beautiful person with whom he spends the night. A similar theme is found in Take You There, but with darker undertones.

Speaking of Take You There, the band says: “This is also about a meeting between two people. The difference is the attitude to life, "there is nothing sacred in this disgusting world. Nothing we are or do matter, shall we go home to me or you?"

Their greatest strength has always been in their live performances and producer Gustav Brunn (Danko Jones, Mando Diao, Viagra Boys, Timbuktu & Damn!) Has managed to capture the energy and nerve from a live show. The songs were recorded in the Yellow Studio and legendary Tambourine Studios. Mother Mersy is now preparing an explosive live show where they take advantage of the energy generated by two years of touring abstinence. They are getting ready to accentuate their album release with an intense tour period and take out their new songs on the roads in both Sweden and the rest of Europe.
