Gallamesh delivers heaviness and introspection on new EP ‘Conditioned Pt. 2’

Out today via Suburban Records (06/06/25), ‘Conditioned Pt. 2’ is the second EP by Gallamesh. It explores social constructs and conditioning, confronting listeners with the ways we’re shaped by our environment and the inner work it takes to break free. Across themes of vulnerability, digital dependency, and collective release at metal shows, the EP invites reflection on identity, connection, and what it takes to truly get to know yourself.

Gallamesh continue to evolve, blending chaos with unexpected moments of clarity and harsh growls with hip-hop-inspired flow on ‘Conditioned Pt. 2’. The Amsterdam-based metalcore band takes its influences from hardcore punk and modern death-metal, blending the big riff of Chimaira, the vocals of Lamb of God, and the chugs of Kublai Khan TX.

Opening track ‘Now It Ends’ is an homage to the metal scene—and the role that culture has played in the lives of the band members, who’ve been going to shows together since high school. A scene built on shared energy, going all in, and finding calm in the middle of chaos—through the music and each other.

It’s a groovy, hard-hitting track that pushes back against individualist culture, asking one simple question: what actually helps when you’re hurting? The answer: opening up. Sharing your pain. And wearing it with pride. And really, where else can you do that as loud and unfiltered as at a metal show?

Gallamesh - Now It Ends

‘Lotus’ explores themes of detachment and self-optimization, blending Dillinger Escape Plan-level chaos with an eerie clean vocal outro. With lines like "I love you, I'm nothing without you," the song reflects a toxic relationship between humanity and technology, as individuals become consumed by digital dependency.

The EP's title track delves into moments of sudden introspection—when life seems to pause, and we are forced to confront the parts of ourselves we've long ignored. The track questions the conditioning that keeps people locked in social constructs and patterns, urging listeners to reflect on what empathy they may be denying themselves and others in the process.

Recorded and mixed by guitarist Jeroen van der Lee in his self-built studio, with drums tracked by Daan Nieboer (Cornerstone Audio / SWANSLAUGHTER) who also handled mastering. Gallamesh is Kees van Ekeren on vocals, Sander van Gelswijck on bass, guitar by Jeroen van der Lee and Guus van Gemert, and Niek Hubregtse on drums.
