New names Summer Breeze 2016

Summer Breeze has announced new names for its 2016 edition:

SWALLOW THE SUN

Dark, energetic walls of sound, doom and death – SWALLOW THE SUN deliver anything but superficial, easy-to-digest fast food music. Their journey through melancholic complexity and mood variations is both captivating and surprising.

With their triple album “Songs From The North I, II & III” the Finns led by main songwriter Juha Raivio worship the “sanctity of the album and music”. The question which songs from albums “I, II & III”, each of which is an independent, self-contained work of art, they will play at SUMMER BREEZE, can only be answered with the feeling of unknowing anticipation. Be there when the swallowed sun turns into a gloomy, yet “illuminating” Gesamtkunstwerk.

ENTOMBED A.D.

Swedish death metal – this certificate of origin stands for the highest quality! Or, in the case of these Norsemen, A.D. quality, since all previous and current projects involving Victor Brandt, Olle Dahlstedt, Nico Elgstrand and Lars Göran Petrov could probably fill a whole festival day. The board of experts known as ENTOMBED A.D. will run over everything that stands in their way with their death'n'roll tank, because what the Stockholm four have in store for you is pissed off and heavy as a ton of bricks.

Petrov's unmistakeable growls kick your arse, while the massive groove punches you in the face.

PRIMORDIAL

The combination of epic Bathory influences, Irish folk, heavy metal and incredibly intense melodies will captivate every metalhead out there. When these gentlemen from Dublin come to town it becomes clear that PRIMORDIAL are an institution with a very own style.

PRIMORDIAL write big music. Their longevity, the stability of their line-up and the intelligent lyrics make the band something out of the ordinary. The Irish giants of sound take you on a journey that is full of different facets. A.A. Nemtheanga's voice works as a hypnotic guide on the trip through anthemic metal soundscapes. It's a mandatory appointment: PRIMORDIAL!

THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER

It's still a mystery who committed the “Black Dahlia Murder” back in 1947. With the band THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, however, the culprits have been known for years. Every other year since 2003 they deliver a collection of songs that, track by track, anchor de throne of modern melodic death metal deep into the ground of Detroit.

THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER have been touring the world relentlessly, leaving their fans even hungrier every time. There have been a few line-up changes over the years, which Metal Blade head honcho Brian Slagel comments with a self-conscious “that only makes them stronger”. In August 2015 the band released their seventh full-length album “Abysmal”. Death metal megafan and singer Trevor Strnad believes that their personal preferences in the fields of death, black and thrash metal are newly balanced with every release, making each one of them a unique THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER cocktail, while guitarists Brian Eschbach and Ryan Knight constantly keep improving their skills, reaching a level of songwriting that allows only one verdict: Serial killers!

STEEL PANTHER

STEEL PANTHER! Will it smell of hairspray soon at SUMMER BREEZE? Is there going to be a vanity mirror on stage? You bet, and there will be a party like you've never seen before.

The motley quartet from Los Angeles alternates between accurately interpreted 80s glam and sleaze rock, heavy metal, and a wildly entertaining performance.

When the crowd starts singing along to the soulful guitar melodies and slowly taking off their clothes, you will realise what a STEEL PANTHER show is all about. If you don't get the joke you probably haven't understood that STEEL PANTHER put a death curse on all non-metallers. “Death To All But Metal”, “Party Like Tomorrow Is The End Of The World” and “Pussywhipped” are titles explicit enough to imagine what kind of stuff is going to happen at the show. Panther alarm for the first time in Dinkelsbühl! Beware of the scratches...
