On August 5, Norwegian metal band Kingseeker release their new EP, Parables. Across six tracks, the band delivers its heaviest, most modern, and emotionally uncompromising release to date.

While earlier releases hinted at the band's evolving sound, Parables fully embraces it. Blending the raw aggression of early 2000s metalcore with the intensity of modern hardcore and contemporary metal, the EP balances crushing riffs, massive hooks, ambient textures, and an organic production that deliberately avoids the overly polished sound dominating much of today's heavy music.

"This EP is both heavier and more modern than anything we've done before. We wanted to push the Kingseeker sound forward without disappearing into a sea of overproduced music. Thematically, it's about the lies we tell ourselves, and the ones we choose to live with. On the production side, we wanted everything to feel as organic and authentic as possible, so we spent a lot of time creating guitar tones that felt alive instead of sterile."

Lyrically, Parables explores the fragile stories people build to survive. Across the EP, Kingseeker tackles themes including grief, depression, isolation, self-deception, fading memories, destructive relationships, and the difficult choice between confronting reality or hiding from it. Despite its unrelenting heaviness, the record ultimately searches for hope, resilience, and the strength to move forward.

Each track reveals a different side of the band's identity. From the crushing intensity of "Eldritch Horrors," the experimental and synth-driven melancholy of "Lovelorn," the atmospheric interlude "Inconsistent Internal Logic," the expansive soundscapes of "Suspension of Disbelief," the groove-driven "Fables and Fairytales," and the uplifting closer "Faded Memories," Parables showcases a band unwilling to repeat itself while maintaining a clear musical identity throughout.

The EP was intentionally crafted to sound raw, energetic, and human. Rather than relying on increasingly common digital shortcuts, the band quad-tracked and re-amped every guitar to achieve a richer, more organic sound, reinforcing the authenticity that defines the record.

With Parables, Kingseeker deliver their most complete statement to date. Fierce yet vulnerable, aggressive yet melodic, the EP captures a band confidently expanding its creative boundaries while remaining firmly rooted in the uncompromising energy that has become its trademark.
