Colorblind releases debut album 'Who Sold You This Truth'

COLORBLIND stands apart because they’ve never tried to fit in. Since forming in 2017, the Austin, TX, quartet have deliberately forged their own lane in the modern heavy music landscape: one captivating song, one sold-out show and one explosive festival set at a time. In that time, the Tooth & Nail/Solid State group – Travis Moseley (vocals), Tyler Moseley (drums), Nicholas Asper (bass) and Justin Page (guitar) – have grown into one of the most compelling voices in the scene, powered by breakout singles like “Motionless,” “Needle Eye” and “Letdown” (as featured on SiriusXM Octane), racking up more than 30 million combined streams in the process.

The group thrives in the push and pull of their trademark “dreamcore” sound, a genre-less middle ground where thundering, detuned riffs collide with ambient textures and pop-forward melody in a blend that’s equal parts haunting and harrowing. Beneath that contrast lies something more human: raw, unflinching emotional resonance, elevating the most vulnerable parts of the human experience in deeply personal, universally relatable terms.

“We’ve always just tried to be honest about where we’re at,” Travis Moseley explains. “Sometimes you don’t even realize what you’re writing about until later; it just flows out of you and then you go back and listen to it and it all starts to make sense. There’s something really vulnerable about that.”

That sense of honesty first took shape across a string of early independent releases, most notably the band’s self-titled EP, which offered a glimpse into the emotional core that would come to define them. Songs like “Ghosts,” written about the brother Travis and Tyler lost at birth, became a turning point, revealing the depth of the band’s connection with listeners. What began as an internal process of understanding and grief quickly became something shared, as audiences responded in real time to the heart of their music.

From there, the connection carried directly into WHO SOLD YOU THIS TRUTH, the band’s first EP for Tooth & Nail/Solid State and a turning point in both sound and perspective. What had once been instinctive began to take clearer shape, as Colorblind leaned further into their emotional vulnerability while expanding the scope of their sound. That growth quickly translated beyond the studio, carrying the band onto tours with blessthefall, Miss May I and Dayseeker, as well as stages at major festivals like Inkcarceration, Welcome to Rockville and Louder Than Life.

“We’ve always wrestled with who we want to be sonically, because we have a huge array of things we want to do,” Travis explains of the band’s chameleonic, shape-shifting tendencies. “How do we condense all of those things down into one sound? We don’t even know who we’re supposed to be, and that’s the fun of it.”

Now, as Colorblind prepare to take the stage on their first headlining tour, they do so with sharper vision, not just in their sound, but in the freedom to follow it wherever it leads. The past year has found the band more introspective than ever while completing their debut full-length, a body of work shaped by questions of identity, belief, grief and self-perception. In many ways, it’s the clearest reflection yet of who they are – but leaves the future wide open for a band still in motion, with many more career-defining highs on the horizon with each and every step forward.
