New Single/Video: Zement "Soil"

Premiered via Visions (DE) and New Noise (FR) "Soil", the 2nd single of Zement's forthcoming "Rohstoff" LP is out everywhere today!

ZEMENT’s Philipp Hager:

"Our second single SOIL is an uptempo song, which combines driven post-punk drums, with wavy guitars and dreamy synthesizers! The song evolves from its post-punk skeleton of drums and bass to an epic New-Wave ending, in which the Synthesizers and the Mellotron take over the lead voice. Everything gets bigger and brighter, until a sudden ending. It's raw in the beginning and dreamy in the end. It's our personal Post-Punk song from our upcoming album ROHSTOFF and what matches better with that feeling, than skateboarding in its rawness and directness. The video pays homage to the art of skateboarding and we are very happy that one of its pioneers, Wolfgang Toth, joined us for this trip in the "pool" and in nature. Sound and picture, in black and white, match perfectly together, they show the raw and beautiful aspects of life on this planet all in one. Video and Song try to celebrate life in its evolution. In the end, we ll all skate down this road! The Video was filmed by Harald Retzbach and cut and edited by international visual artist Maja Milic, together with Sergej Vutuc, who had an international name as an audiovisual artist and did a photo documentary in the past about skateboarding in Fukushima. Perfect match!"

"A hybrid of Autobahn-inspired early electronic from the school of Kraftwerk and the hypnotic repetition from krautrock pioneers NEU! Similar to contemporary groups like Föllakzoid and Trans Am, Zement take those inspirations and add in their own ingredients to propel the genre forward. "Rohstoff" their third full-length, has some exciting psychedelic undertones stirred into the cauldron." SlyVinyl (US
