N.E.W.S. Distribution launches new website
N.E.W.S. Distribution celebrates 20 years of experience in the constantly changing music industry with a fresh website. The independent music distributor represents renowned labels in today’s electronic music scene such as Robert Hood’s M-Plant, Luke Slater’s Mote Evolver, Todd Terje’s Olsen, Tiga’s Turbo, Joris Voorn’s Green and Jimmy Edgar’s Ultramajic to name just a few, combined with in-house labels like Token, International Feel, Eskimo Recordings and Music Man.
The company was established in Ghent, Belgium in 1994 in the back of a record store. That shop (Music Man) was importing and exporting vinyl in the late eighties and early nineties to meet the demand of an exploding dance music scene connected with the growth of the New Beat genre in Belgium. Those times were prolific but chaotic. Former employees of the shop were foreseeing enough to put structure in the mess to come. N.E.W.S. Distribution was born, and following in its footsteps, N.E.W.S. Records. In its early years, N.E.W.S. Distribution was focusing on Belgian dance vinyls. Some of the early distributed labels are still labeled as essential today like R&S, Bonzai and Music Man. The growth and achievement of those labels resulted in international recognition and more(international) labels lined up to team up with the young distributor.
During its existence, N.E.W.S. Distribution has proven it can deal with change. Being it adapting to new music carriers or music experience in general, or reckoning with new hypes and trends in the ever changing electronic music industry. It has always risen to the occasion with a clear vision. Today the company stands a solid position with thoughtful plans for the future.
With a worldwide network of partners based on established relationships, N.E.W.S. Distribution endeavors to offer the best possible services to their distributed labels and costumers. Through clear communication and with a clear view for each label individually, the independent company provides benefits in order to maximize the expansion of their labels. And it pays off as Mark Barrott from International Feel (in-house label) states: “Distributors are not meant to be trendy, they are not meant to offer P&D deals to every new label under the sun, that's one way to end up on the top of a cliff in a high wind, as the past few years of disappearing distributors will show you. So... if you want professional, friendly, honest and stable (oh and they do seem to keep selling a load of our releases) go to News Distribution. They really are the only game in town worth considering!”
The prime characteristics of the company have always been and still are their main fuel: passion and dedication. And this reflects to their labels. Thomas Von Party, A&R at Turbo and Multi Culti (distributed labels), sums it up like this: “Always pro. Always on time. A great team that really cares about the records they release.”
To highlight the current functioning, N.E.W.S. Distribution has put online a new website. On a visual level, an Instagram account has been created. Browse around and find out what this company stands for and has to offer!
