HFMC Announce Live Album One Night Only and Confirm the Band’s Farewell
The Swedish progressive rock outfit will release their new live album on 27 November 2026, capturing a special hometown performance ahead of their final concerts in 2027.
Swedish progressive rock band Hasse Fröberg & Musical Companion (HFMC) announce the release of their new live album, One Night Only – Live, on 27 November 2026 via FREIA Music. Recorded in their hometown of Uppsala, Sweden, the album captures a special performance from 2 November 2024 at Katalin, bringing together almost an hour of music from across the band's catalogue.
The announcement comes with bittersweet news for fans: HFMC will be disbanding, with two farewell concerts already announced for 2027, in Germany and Sweden. One Night Only – Live therefore takes on an additional significance, preserving the energy and musical connection of a band whose journey has spanned more than fifteen years.
As Hasse Fröberg explains: “Little did we know that this would turn out to be our last album. One Night Only – Live was recorded at Katalin in our hometown Uppsala (Sweden) on November 2nd, 2024. This was an exclusive night and a special show where we performed our latest album Eternal Snapshots in its entirety and a second set of songs taken from the rest of our catalogue. This album contains almost one hour of music and is a compilation of both sets.
For us, making a live album is very much about capturing the connection between the audience and the band. On this recording you will feel like you're in the middle of the crowd, listening to a band giving it all they got. So crank up the volume and enjoy One Night Only – Live!”
The story of HFMC began in 2008, when Hasse Fröberg - widely recognised for his more than two decades as singer and guitarist with progressive rock luminaries The Flower Kings, as well as his earlier work with Swedish hard rock band Spellbound during the 1980s - found himself writing a steady stream of new songs and began considering the formation of a new band. In 2009, Hasse Fröberg & Musical Companion took shape, setting the stage for their debut album, FuturePast, released in 2010.
HFMC's line-up comprises:
-
Hasse Fröberg – Lead vocals, guitar
-
Ola Strandberg – Drums, backing and lead vocals
-
Sampo Axelsson – Bass, Taurus
-
Anton Lindsjö – Guitar, backing vocals
-
Kjell Haraldsson – Keyboards, backing vocals
The album will be available on all major digital platforms and on CD in jewel-case packaging with a 12-page booklet. A limited first pressing of just 300 individually numbered copies will make this release a particularly special memento for fans as the band approaches its farewell concerts in 2027:

-
16 April 2027 – Katalin, Uppsala, Sweden
