Michaël Brun Celebrates 10 Years Of BAYO With Landmark Sold-Out New York Residency

 Grammy-winning, platinum-selling producer, artist, and Haitian cultural ambassador Michaël Brun marked the 10th anniversary of BAYO with one of the most expansive cultural moments of his career, bringing his global celebration of Haitian and Afro-Caribbean culture across music, film, live performance, and sport throughout May and June. Coinciding with Haiti’s historic return to the FIFA World Cup, the milestone season reinforced BAYO’s evolution from an impromptu street-party concept into one of the most visible platforms for Haitian creativity, community, and diaspora connection.

Across the anniversary run, Brun brought BAYO to Boston’s Agganis Arena before launching the series’ first-ever three-night sold-out residency at Brooklyn Paramount in New York City. The NYC run honored BAYO’s roots while pushing the platform into its next chapter, with Night 1 reuniting the inaugural lineup from ten years ago. Across the weekend, BAYO welcomed special performances from Troubleboy, Riva, Baky, Plezi RARA, Lakou Mizik, and Paul Beaubrun, with notable attendees including Fédération Haïtienne World Cup scorer Wilson Isidor, Lil Nas X, and Take A Daytrip.

Brun also expanded his presence beyond the stage through a series of initiatives tied to Haiti’s long-awaited World Cup return. Ahead of BAYO, he released a short film in collaboration with the Fédération Haïtienne, directed by Leo Volcy and executive produced by Brun and Haitian soccer legend Jozy Altidore. He also provided a warm-up DJ set for the national team ahead of their tournament return and remained on the sidelines throughout matches in Boston, Philadelphia, and Atlanta.

During Haitian Heritage Month, Brun launched BAYO Sessions, a new live performance series featuring Steves J. Bryan, J Perry, and Andybeatz, while also connecting with New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and Councilwoman Rita Joseph as part of his ongoing advocacy to celebrate and elevate Haitian culture across the city. During the closing night celebration, Brun was honored with an official citation from President of the Borough of Brooklyn Antonio Reynoso recognizing BAYO's cultural impact and his continued contributions to the local Haitian community.

As BAYO enters its second decade, Brun continues to expand the platform's impact, using music, live experiences, and cultural initiatives to celebrate Haitian creativity on a global scale.
