Piel releases 'Nos Mantenemos Firmes'

Chilean band Piel, recognized for their raw blend of alternative rock, hardcore, post-hardcore, and groove metal, has just released their latest single and music video titled ‘Nos Mantenemos Firmes’. This track serves as the third official preview of their highly anticipated third studio album, which will be titled ‘III’ and is slated for release in late 2026.

With lyrics and music penned by founder Alex Portillo, and production and recording at @Chuka.rec studios closely overseen by Mauricio Vilarroel, the song goes beyond the strictly musical sphere to become a manifesto of overcoming.

The band describes the work as "a message for those who have fallen, for those who keep fighting, and for those still looking for a light in the dark." The lyrics delve into the idea that true bravery does not lie in invulnerability, but in the courage to stand back up in the face of adversity. "As long as there is a reason to keep going, a dream to achieve, or a hand willing to lift another, there will always be reasons to stand firm," they state.

To accompany this release, Piel chose to step away from traditional storytelling and rely on their greatest strength: the intensity of their live performance. The music video was shot as a live session at CasaGrecia studios in Ñuñoa. The visual record captures the band's essence in an authentic and highly energetic way, delivering a visceral execution that directly conveys the power of the message breathing life into the song.

Formed in Santiago, Chile, in 2019, Piel has been fronted by Alex Portillo (vocals and guitar) for over seven years. With a track record that already includes two studio albums and two live records, 2026 marks the dawn of a powerful new era for the outfit. Their lineup has been revamped with the addition of heavyweight musicians from the scene. Hans Leiva, known for his work in Macrobia and Minerva, takes over the drum kit. The rhythmic engine is completed by musician Daniel Carroz, who steps in to handle the four strings, injecting a new nuance into the power trio's signature groove.
