Brighton Glam-Laced Art-Rock Newcomers’ Debut Album Success & Fulfilment Out Now via Agricultural Audio

Brighton-based glam-laced art-rock newcomers Not Richard & Her Majesty are today pleased to reveal the official video for new single ‘It’s You, Soul Stew’ set for release on 13th August 2026.

Featuring footage from their raucous pre-pride show at the Hope & Ruin in Brighton last month, it’s a perfect introduction to the sextet’s sensually rich world.

Commenting on the track, vocalist Rich Fownes says: "Everything about this song was intended as sarcastic and bratty. I started a beautiful sexual relationship with someone when we were both fresh out of SERIOUS relationships. We wouldn’t have ever worked as a couple and were just enjoying a really simple time together—hence ‘I could never say I love you in real life, I could never fit into your paradigm’—but the world exploded and acted like there was a tectonic shift under their feet. I wrote this song for them and the romantic drama they wanted to insist upon.”

“I pushed into the musical world and cliches of Percy Sledge, The Righteous Brothers, and Elvis, then multiplied it by ten to emphasise the stupidity of it all. I thought of it as a throwaway track because of the irreverence of it all, but somewhere between the sarcasm and the melodrama it became a live staple.”

“I had expected all the beat driven material to do the heavy lifting, but when we started playing this live, the room would brighten up and relax. I certainly never planned for our crowd to relax at all...if I can’t why should you?! The people chose this single and it’s been a beautiful moment of symbiotic discovery. Ultimately, the takeaway is: this one is their fault, not mine...”

With ardour for their sultry, rock‘n’roll-excess live shows quickly spreading via word of mouth, the band’s beautifully chaotic performances at Brighton’s Homegrown Festival, The Alternative Escape, and Black Cat Fest have signified a real moment of arrival for the quintet this year.

Fresh from a support slot with Canadian dance-punks La Sécurité, the single comes ahead of the band’s debut London headline show at Brixton Windmill on 15th August 2026, with further live dates announced for Autumn 2026 including a support slot with Goo (see below for listings).

The single is the latest to be taken from their accomplished debut album Success & Fulfilment, which is out now via producer Ben Hillier’s (Depeche Mode, Blur) label, Agricultural Audio.

A thrillingly dark journey through Fownes’ “personal, professional, sexual, financial, and gender ruin”, the record takes life’s many bitter moments and turns them into something entirely more delicious and bacchanalian, and was widely praised by underground tastemakers for its wit, pathos, and sordid storytelling.

Already deep in the studio working on the follow up release, it seems there’s no stopping Fownes’ redemption arc now that it’s in full flow—one thing’s for certain: you’ll be hearing plenty more from Not Richard & Her Majesty from here on out.
