NYC'S Carnival Gold Yach Party celebrates release of Reggae Gold 2014

On Wed. Aug 27, NYC's Carnival weekend gets an early start. VP Records throws the Carnvial Gold Yacht Party to celebrate the release of this year's Soca Gold and Reggae Gold compilation.

The voyage around the Manhattan skyline will be filled with stars, live music and special surprises. Reggae Gold 2014 featured artists Bunji Garlin, Gyptian, Fay-Ann Lyons and QQ will be aboard the star-studded bash. DJ Prostyle, DJ Self and DJ Norie of New York's Power 105.1 FM crew will provide the season's hottest sounds throughout the evening. There will also be a soca deck powered by DJ Spice & Boom Champions.

The yacht will board at 8pm sharp at Pier 40 (353 West Street, NYC) for a 9pm departure and return around midnight. The event is 21 and tickets are available online at summersplashnyc.com. A handful of giveaways, courtesy of VP Records, will be given to guests on a first come first serve basis, so come early!

Reggae Gold 2014

Soca Gold 2014

For almost two decades, soca's top-selling compilation has been the ultimate Carnival soundtrack from the Caribbean islands. Soca Gold 2014 delivers the genre's freshest party anthems. This year's collection opens with the self-proclaimed Viking of Soca Bunji Garlin's latest single "Carnival Tabanca" then Farmer Nappy's groovy soca tune "Big People Party" that came in second for Road March at this year's Trinidad & Tobago Carnival competition.
