Ordaca, a guitar-less rock band, releases a new single

Ordaca, the Chilean band that turned heads in 2024 with their debut EP, Ciudad Siniestra, is officially back with the release of their first single, "Alimañas". This track is the highly anticipated lead single from their upcoming second EP. With their unmistakable lineup of two basses and a drum kit, the trio showcases a new level of sonic maturity, seamlessly fusing sharp social commentary with a raw power that resonates with a new generation of rock fans. The band is solidifying its position as one of the freshest and most promising acts in the genre.

"Alimañas" is a bold declaration, both sonically and lyrically. The song delivers a biting critique of the elites who dominate politics, business, education, and society at large. Using the metaphor of "vermin" infiltrating the system, the band provokes a powerful reflection, urging society to stop being complicit. "It forces us to accept that, as a society, we put them in power and allow them to stay there," the band explains. "The main message is that complaining isn’t enough. If we keep playing their game, nothing will change."

The single fearlessly ventures into more pop and danceable territories, a testament to the trio's versatility. It was recorded at CHT Estudios and Cotidiano Records, with mixing and mastering handled by Cristian Mardones (Crisálida, Drake, etc.). The accompanying music video, which uses a touch of absurd humor to complement the song's message, was brought to life by a top-tier production team led by director Claudio Araya, with cinematography by Jamal and art direction by Paola Kunstmann.
