'Ototoxic', brand new single of Space-Dub Band Kosmo Sound (Zephyrus Records) - (UK), (DE) & (BE) shows announced.

First single of the upcoming album 'Fruit Of The Void' (cd/vinyl/digital) to be released later this fall. Kosmo Sound is a perfect balance of tight rhythms and extended melodies, and they constantly strive to push boundaries with their sound. Having worked together with dub legends Daniel Boyle and Alpha & Omega and having played as the support act for Adrian Sherwood, The Twinkle Brothers and Omar Perry, heavily inspired, they took refuge in the studio to record this album full of meditative sounds and dense grooves.

Inspired by baroque harmony but then heavily jazzed up - the melody is rhythmically very peculiar so the challenge was to process all those elements into a natural sounding (digi)dub song. 'Ototoxic' means toxic to the ear but actually the musical poison here is enclosed by a honey-sweet jacket. Recorded by Pieter-Jan Coppejans at De Robot Studios, Gent. Mixed by Christopher Lonneville & mastered by Karel Debacker.

This Ghent offspring of the youngest generation of Belgian jazz bands is inspired by dub and combines a sultry sound with fat grooves. With a background in jazz, Kosmo Sound creates an exciting, danceable and eclectic universe with tight grooves, oriental sounds and spacy sound effects. Improvisations and expansive melodies take the listener on a trip through their cosmos. The sextet has toured the UK several times, an important breeding ground for the dub. That is where the inspiration for the full album 'Antenna' in 2020 (mixed by Koen Gisen) arose. The ultimate recognition came when their singles were mixed by dub legends Daniel Boyle and Alpha & Omega and played as the support act for Adrian Sherwood, The Twinkle Brothers and Omar Perry. They want to keep exploring the boundaries with their sound, but one certainty remains: Kosmo Sound wants to turn every dance floor into a sweating, dubbing and brooding flesh heap.
