Dirtybird Unveils 'Flock Tapes Vol. 1' Compilation Following Inaugural San Francisco Writing Camp

 Today renowned house and techno label Dirtybird unveils its anticipated Flock Tapes Vol. 1 compilation, out now. The 17-track project brings the label’s inaugural Flight Week writing camp full circle, collecting a year’s worth of collaborations from across the extended Dirtybird family alongside four brand-new cuts.

A year ago, Dirtybird launched its inaugural Flight Week writing camp and event series. The week-long creative summit was designed to promote wellness, community, and artistic collaboration. Bringing together more than a dozen producers, artists, singers, and all-around characters both old and new to the flock, the initiative combined daily songwriting sessions with activities centered around movement, mindfulness, and connection. What unfolded over the week was something special: new friendships, unexpected collaborations, and a creative spark that generated an entire year’s worth of music. Over the last 12 months, those records have steadily made their way into the world, each one carrying a piece of that experience and reflecting the collaborative spirit that defined Flight Week.

Vol. 1 brings together a diverse cast of artists from across the Dirtybird ecosystem, including label mainstays, rising talents, vocalists, and first-time collaborators. Longtime staples like Mz Worthy, Ardalan, and Kevin Knapp helped hone the label’s signature touch while creating space for open exchange and experimentation, with newer Players like DJ E-Clyps, Black V Neck, and SHADED adding dynamic flair to the series. Life On Planets became the defining voice of the project, alongside vocal collaborators Khyenci, Marieme, and Andra G., whose contributions helped thread the themes of connection and creative chemistry throughout Flight Week. The camp also put a spotlight on rising local talent including Wet Velvet, n808, and Mike Kerrigan, capturing the mentorship, spontaneity, and full-family spirit that turned the sessions into a snapshot of the label’s past, present, and next wave.

ABOUT FLIGHT WEEK

In June 2025, Dirtybird launched its inaugural Flight Week, a week-long series of events culminating in their second Back 2 Baysics outdoor concert at Embarcadero Plaza. Promoting creativity, community, and wellness, Flight Week invited more than a dozen Dirtybird artists to EMPIRE Studios and featured activations with the San Francisco Giants, Midnight Runners Club, clothing brand San Franpsycho, and local restaurants, who rolled out Dirtybird-themed menu items to mark the celebration.
