Sansansander releases new single 'Doomscrolling'

With “Doomscrolling”, SANSANSANDER delivers an infectious yet razor-sharp synth-pop track that perfectly captures the spirit of our times. What starts as a catchy, seemingly light-hearted song gradually unfolds into a confronting reflection on our collective digital addiction.

Lines such as “The city burns but not before my tired eyes” and “Don’t know what’s fake, don’t know what’s real” paint a picture of a world in which we keep scrolling passively while reality demands our attention. “Doomscrolling, the void is calling.” The chorus lingers long after the song ends, but beneath its accessibility lies a sense of urgency: precious time is slipping away.

Musically, the track sits somewhere between the nervous energy of Talking Heads, the playful synth textures of MGMT and the driving momentum of Roxy Music and Simple Minds, all while maintaining a distinctive identity of its own.

For this release, SANSANSANDER teamed up with producer Pieterjan Coppejans (MIA Producer of the Year 2025), known for his work with artists such as Eefje de Visser and Sylvie Kreusch. The collaboration elevates the song to new heights: warm, layered and radio-ready, without sacrificing any of its edge.

“Doomscrolling” is part of a series of releases that will ultimately lead to SANSANSANDER's debut EP in the fall of 2026.

ABOUT SANSANSANDER

SANSANSANDER is the new pop project of composer and multi-instrumentalist Sander De Keere - by day a radio host at Klara and creator of the podcast “Eerste Hulp bij Klassiek”, by night an architect of his own musical worlds.

De Keere has already established himself in the world of contemporary classical music. In 2022, he released the album “Primitive Structures” on W.E.R.F. Records and composed, among other works, a virtuosic piano piece in honour of American composer Ruth Crawford Seeger. Yet his artistic ambitions extend far beyond a single genre.

With SANSANSANDER, he explores the space between pop and classical music, deliberately tearing down the wall between the two. “Why should an artist limit themselves to a single form?” he says. “For me, those worlds have completely merged.”

That hybrid approach is embedded in his music. Influences from ’80s synth-pop collide and intertwine with echoes of the 17th and 18th centuries. “A melody by Frédéric Chopin can inspire a vocal line, while the structure of a pop song can become the starting point for a new classical composition.”

Following his debut single “New Beginning” (2025), SANSANSANDER continues to build towards a debut EP scheduled for release in 2026. “Doomscrolling” marks the latest chapter in that journey, further refining his distinctive blend of synth-pop, classical influences and contemporary themes.
