Paris Jackson stars in new video for 'Dragonfly' from US singer Nahko

Nahko has released the video for ‘Dragonfly’, which stars his close friend Paris Jackson and is the first single to be released from his forthcoming album My Name Is Bear, which will be released on October 20th on SideOneDummy Records. WATCH THE VIDEO HERE

The Dragonfly, a symbol of transformation and change in life resonates through the video’s narrative. It follows Paris in an angelic and vibrant journey during a transformational time of her life, looking at her beauty and freedom as a young woman in the world.

Paris says, "This video is something that I hold very dear to my heart. There was so much love and light radiating from everyone involved throughout the creative process. It was amazing to see everyone working together to create this beautiful magic. I am so grateful to have been welcomed so warmly into Medicine Tribe, as well as to be a part of the bigger message and everything Nahko has been working towards."

‘Dragonfly’ is the opening track on Nahko’s forthcoming debut solo album My Name Is Bear. Although the track was written over 10 years ago when Nahko was traveling across the US from Alaska to Hawaii, he comments, “There are some puzzles left unfinished that get better with age. This song, left dormant for years, has come back to life with not only fresh interpretation, but perhaps new meaning thanks to my dear friend Paris Jackson.

“It's a perfect fit, no longer undone. It was a vulnerable thing, digging through the archives and dusting off this tune. With Paris creating a visual narrative of natural beauty, the journey of herself discovery and transformation shines boldly. Working with her came with such ease and humility. My Name Is Bear, is a 16-track collection that reflects the authenticity and spirit that Nahko’s fans have come to know. It predates Nahko’s rise to mythos among diehard fans of his band Medicine for the People. As he puts it, the album serves as a “prequel,” that artfully merges rustic acoustic guitars, upbeat energy, tribal flavors fiery percussion, and ponderous lyrics.

My Name is Bear, sets the stage for a whole lot more from Nahko as he embarks on a 37 date headline tour across the U.S. and Europe headline tour on October 18th in Boston.

The tour hits the UK at the end of November and features a theatrical and moving production, with the narrative elaborating on Nahko’s passage from cub to bear and to who he is today. With his band Medicine For The People providing the backing, the show will feature fan favourites from his career, alongside tracks from his new solo album.
