phem Returns With Infectious New Track “ikea” Fresh Off Massive European Tour With Avril Lavigne
Fresh off commanding stages across Europe with Avril Lavigne, Alt pop-star phem is back with a danceable new track inspired by everyone’s favorite furniture store. “IKEA” is out now and fans can’t get enough of the funky yellow and blue branding and infectious power melodies. But don’t be fooled by the song’s kitschy title - the song is an especially meaningful one, written about losing a relationship that couldn’t overcome the trials and tribulations of life. Listen to the track HERE.
phem shares of the track: "i was building a life with them and furniture. we went to ikea several times and enjoyed every minute of it. we would always run into random friends, usually accompanied by their partners... shopping for things to make them feel adult and equipped to be in their first "real adult relationship". everyone in there is hopeful and ready for more.. but the view is narrow. playing house for the day and all the rooms make the future look so bright and easy. yea... we passed the ikea stress test, but we failed all the others"
ABOUT PHEM:
Los Angeles-based phem is an enigma - artist, songwriter, vocalist and producer. Before her recent success, she spent a year living between her car and studio space in the Crenshaw District of LA. During this time of isolation, she dove inward discovering the essence of her creativity and sexuality, both fluid and intertwined. These surroundings and life changes left their own stain, adding to the liminal and ethereal float of her songs. For phem, this self discovery has paid off. Over the past couple of years she has both been featured on and co-wrote songs with a slew of artists including Machine Gun Kelly, Travis Barker, Lil Tracy, Iann Dior, Pouty Face, JXDN, GRANDMA, ezekiel, Palaye Royale, The Used, Huddy, Gabriel Black, Steve Aoki, Tyler Posey, Royal and the Serpent, and more. She has toured with and supported artists such as MGK, Grandson, & Waterparks. Phem signed to Hopeless Records in 2022, and plans on continuing full steam ahead with releasing new music throughout the year ahead.
