pHoenix Pagliacci releases Monday Jam

Toronto R&B artist, rapper, and producer pHoenix Pagliacci returns with her new single “Monday Jam”, the first look from her forthcoming EP R&B Diaries. Smooth, soulful, and undeniably relatable, the track captures the tension of trying to stay connected with a loved one when life pulls you in every other direction. Written during a spontaneous session with multi-instrumentalist Felix Fox-Pappas (BADBADNOTGOOD)—who plays every instrument on the recording—“Monday Jam” feels like a conversation set to music. The song reflects on how “turning a house into a home takes time—time you once had, but seem to no longer find,” offering a vulnerable and timeless look at the ebb and flow of love.

Taking inspiration from Stevie Wonder’s “Tuesday Heartbreak” and nodding to the elegance of Dionne Warwick and Diana Ross, “Monday Jam” is both classic and contemporary. The title also continues pHoenix’s playful call to “bring back song titles with time relations,” giving the track a distinctive place in her catalog. “Songs are just diary entries we’ve made public,” pHoenix explains. “With ‘Monday Jam,’ I wanted to capture that feeling of regret and disconnect, when love is still present but requires intention to survive.” “Monday Jam” leads the way for R&B Diaries, a five-track EP arriving later on September 15. The project pairs pHoenix’s trademark honesty with production from Felix Fox-Pappas, Clairmont The Second, Jonny Tobin, and longtime collaborator Truss, with a companion visual album set for release October 14.
