P.J.M. Bond New album 'Coyote (King of the Island)' out April 10th

P.J.M. Bond is an Americana artist who combines his love for American literature with contemporary songwriting. Americana UK called his debut EP Sunset Blues (2021) "guitar and vocal folk perfection,” and country blog Holler insisted that "Bond has crafted an understated masterpiece.” In 2023, P.J.M. Bond released his debut album, In Our Time, inspired by Ernest Hemingway’s eponymous short story collection, published in 1925. The album was praised internationally and in the Netherlands for its rich thematic depth and interdisciplinary risk-taking, with Amplify the Noise calling it “a lyrical masterpiece.” In Our Time resulted in Bond’s first theatre tour and his first European tour, visiting Spain, France, England, and Belgium.

In 2026, P.J.M. Bond releases a new album under the wings of the legendary Excelsior label, called Coyote (King of the Island). The album was recorded live and with everyone in the same room, with the band hearing the new songs for the first time in the studio, and recording each song in just a handful of takes, without playbacks and with live vocals. This in order to capture the energy of a song in its early stages and to celebrate the beauty of making mistakes, musical risk-taking and of human interactions. As such, the album is a critique of the contemporary music scene dominated by AI, streaming services, and plastic productions. Coyote (King of the Island) is full of poetry, modest literary victories and richly textured songwriting, typical of P.J.M. Bond’s philosophy of music and songwriting.
