Psych pop duo Radderall & Muzzy Fossa return to their roots with "Planted" single & video out now

Today, Cleveland, OH-based alt/psych-pop artists Radderall and Muzzy Fossa share their latest fuzzed-out, tropical cut "Planted" and its matching music video, out now. Their collaborative concept album The Club Is Open is due out October 31 via Wax Mage Records and is available for pre-save now. With the forthcoming project, the Radderall live outfit will bring to the stage the project's expansive, surreal, synthy soundscapes that blur the line between irony and sincerity.

With spacious production infused with an early 2000s R&B flair and a tropical feel, "Planted" is an ode to self-love and being one with the Earth and environment. Grounded and tender, Radderall's Zach Taneyhill explains, "The message in the track is from the Earth, letting someone know how disappointed it is in how the earth is treated. The metaphor here is that the earth is you, we are all one with everything, the song is about realizing how disappointed you are in how you treat yourself, or let others treat you. This results in a need to return to your roots and center."

On the video, shot in Cleveland's old Masonic Temple built in the 1920s, Taneyhill shares, "The video shows a sort of self reckoning, a Lynchian plane where illusion collapses and the main characters from the record watch idealized versions of themselves perform, before they themselves transform into plants. It’s a symbolization of atonement and renewal. The track and video represent individual growth over a short period of time, but can apply to the cycle of life and death on a larger scale."

The forthcoming record, The Club Is Open is a conceptual journey built around a story of duality, and the search for a mythical venue called The Club: two characters navigating the tension between chasing short-term dopamine—through vanity, fleeting love, or ego—and pursuing something meaningful, like real love, honest connections, friendship, and self-discovery. Utilizing the naming convention R.A.M. (Radderall & Muzzy Fossa), the album frames a narrative of resilience and growth—symbolizing resurrection, transformation, and the ability to find renewal after destruction.

Radderall (Zach Taneyhill) & Muzzy Fossa (Nathan Hunt)’s work is theatrical and immersive yet deeply human, blending analog charm, R&B-inflected grooves, psych-pop storytelling, and vintage synth textures into a sound that is strange, surreal, and emotionally resonant. As Taneyhill describes it, the album is “a world unto itself—a place we built so we could get lost and maybe find a little meaning in the process.”

Last month, the pair shared “Movies” and “Every Minute”—the third and fourth releases from their upcoming concept album The Club Is Open—offer vivid glimpses into a strange, theatrical world built on vintage textures and lo-fi experimentation.

ABOUT RADDERALL

Radderall is a Cleveland-based multimedia music project founded in 2012 by Zach Taneyhill and trusted collaborator, Jonny McAllister. What began as two friends creating and trading songs through MacBook’s Garageband, has grown into a layered studio and live act blending dream pop, shoegaze, glam rock, lo fi R&B, and psych infused indie rock with cinematic visual storytelling.

In the studio, Taneyhill leads songwriting and production while McAllister contributes instrumentation and co-writing. Together the duo created the albums Vakation (2018) and If Ever (2020). Drummer Alexander Eliopolous joined in 2021, solidifying the core trio. Together, they self-recorded and produced their third record, How Can I? (2022). The album marked a pivotal shift for the project and featured the collaborative title track “How Can I?” with Muzzy Fossa. Later in 2022, they joined the Wax Mage Records roster.

Radderall’s lush recordings translate into immersive live performances featuring Taneyhill (vocals, synthesizers), McAllister (guitar, vocals), Eliopolous (drums), and Ryan Fletterick (bass), The group has become a Cleveland scene cornerstone, and has shared stages with Nick Hakim, Donny Benet, and Welshly Arms, with festival appearances at Cleveland’s Brite Winter Fest, Ingenuity Fest, Wax Mage Records Fest, and Cincinnati Rock ’N’ Roll Carnival.

Their latest chapter includes the collaborative album with Muzzy Fossa titled, The Club Is Open, a three video arc and full length concept record releasing October 31, 2025. Today, Radderall stands as a dynamic creative universe shaped by storytelling, a DIY spirit, and deep ties to Cleveland’s underground arts scene.

ABOUT MUZZY FOSSA

Muzzy Fossa is the creative moniker of Cleveland-based producer and multi-instrumentalist Nathan Hunt. Since 2020, he has developed a sound that is both ethereal and gritty, built on rhythm, bass, and dreamlike textures that blur the line between intimacy and grandeur.

Hunt has produced for artists including John’s Little Sister, Jessica Jones, Charity Cunningham, Joe Wolfe, and Wish Queen, as well as hip hop acts in Cleveland and beyond. Notable collaborations include Pressures with John’s Little Sister (2022), “Sub Rosa” with Wish Queen (2022), Lighthouse with Jessica Jones (2024), and Red Love (2022), featuring Nuke Franklin, Emily Keener, and Collin Miller & the Brother Nature.

Recent work with Radderall on Baseball / Giving Up Sunday (2025) and the joint project RAM (Radderall & Muzzy Fossa) led to The Club Is Open, a multimedia record and three video arc arriving October 31, 2025 via Wax Mage Records. He continues producing for Cleveland artists while preparing his next solo album, set for 2026.
