Puncake The Band Is Back With “No Pants” First Single For Rude Records out Today - The New Album “Siamo Qui Siamo Questi” Out June 26

Italian band Punkcake have signed to Rude Records and mark the occasion with the release of their new single “No Pants”, out today on all digital platforms. Alongside the signing, the band has also announced their debut album marking the next step in their journey. The album titled “SIAMO QUI SIAMO QUESTI”, will be released on June 26 and is already available for pre-save at https://orcd.co/siamoquisiamoquesti

Following their appearance in the 2024 Italian edition of X Factor – where they stood out for their unconventional attitude and for bringing noise and post-punk influences into the mainstream – Punkcake return with “No Pants” to their natural dimension: a track that, in just under three minutes, leaves no room for frills.

“No Pants” was born collectively in the rehearsal room, starting from a sonic idea that the whole band then developed together. The track features Sonia on vocals, delivering a melody packed with grit over a solid, edgy rock structure.

The lyrics tackle the theme of oppression and loss of identity in modern society:

“No Pants speaks to the situation every oppressed person finds themselves in, living in a world that pushes you toward individualism, stripping away all possibilities of community. The title is a metaphor for all of this: not having pants anymore means being stripped of everything – values, community, and possibilities – and starting over from the ground up through unity and the desire to build something out of these ruins.”

Alongside the single, the music video for “No Pants” is also out today, directed by filmmaker and photographer Paul Pestelli. Shot entirely in the Valdarno area among the band’s everyday haunts, the video stars Klekoyl. Their visionary performance perfectly captures the sense of disorientation and the metaphorical nakedness described in the song, underscoring the deep bond Punkcake shares with the local arts scene and the surrounding territory.
