Hemkade launches Hemkade Presents as 32-year-old Dutch venue enters new chapter
After 32 years in which HEMKADE 48 grew into a fixture of the Dutch nightlife scene, the iconic, family-run venue has officially announced its own event series: "HEMKADE Presents," featuring ANTS, Davyboi and BRESH, among others.
September 14, 2026 - HEMKADE 48 is entering a new chapter, moving from event facilitator to programmer and curator in its own right. With the launch of its own events under the name "HEMKADE Presents," the venue builds on everything that has been established here over the past 32 years, while its new generation looks firmly ahead. The mission is clear: to create a high-end industrial experience where music, people and the history of the place come together. At the same time, HEMKADE aims to play a complementary role within the international nightlife scene, bringing international concepts to the Netherlands and making space for innovative events that fit the venue's identity, while creating a place where visitors feel part not just of an event, but of a larger community.
Located on the North Sea Canal in Zaandam, HEMKADE acts as an extension of Amsterdam's event landscape beyond the city itself, while carrying a history that reaches far beyond nightlife. What began as an industrial production site for Bruynzeel evolved over the years into a space for education, movement, culture and, ultimately, music. Since 1994, the venue has grown under the Moens family into a fixture of the Dutch dance scene, a place where generations come together, and energy has always run through it.
Over the years, leading concepts including Boiler Room, Music On, Verknipt, Teletech and Intercell have found their way to HEMKADE, with artists including Job Jobse, Marco Carola, Michael Bibi, KI/KI and Sara Landry taking to the stage. That reputation forms the foundation for what comes next: a distinct identity where quality, experience and community come together.
The Moens family commented on this next step: "We're incredibly proud of our family business, founded by our grandfather in 1994. As the third generation, we feel a responsibility to build on that strong foundation, but with 'HEMKADE Presents,' we want to take it further. History is an important part of who we are, but we don't want to simply continue what's already there; we want to go beyond. With HEMKADE Presents, we're taking a new direction, becoming a place that draws people from all over the world. What sets HEMKADE apart isn't just its scale or production, but the feeling of coming home. As a family business, connection is at the heart of what we do. We're a place where visitors aren't just an audience, but part of a community that keeps coming back."
The first shows announced under "HEMKADE Presents" already bring together a range of international concepts and artists. The renowned Ibiza concept ANTS, known for its house and tech house sound, is coming to the venue. Also joining the new series is the globally recognised BRESH, the energetic Latin concept connecting cities around the world. Rounding out the line-up is German hard dance and trance DJ Davyboi.
These events mark the start of a new phase, with HEMKADE developing its own concepts, bringing international brands to the Netherlands and building its own distinct identity. The third generation is taking the reins with a clear ambition: to put HEMKADE further on the map and grow it into an international destination where music, people and history come together.
