“Eight Hundred Years” is the second single from A Story Worth Listening To, the forthcoming full-length by Italian hardcore band Regrowth. The track explores the concept of legacy - what we inherit through history and generations - but from a darker and more introspective perspective. Not everything passed down to us is good; often, our legacy is shaped by lies, betrayals, and hardships as much as by love and wisdom.

Set against a pre-apocalyptic backdrop, the song imagines a time when every individual must come to terms with their past - both personal and ancestral - facing the weight of the choices made across time. “Eight Hundred Years” evokes this burden, this invisible thread connecting generations over centuries, traveling through an imaginary bridge that stretches every eight hundred years.

The song is accompanied by a visualizer, directed and produced by Marco Camarda and Paolo Angelo Loi, which visually translates the track’s emotional intensity. Through a sequence of evocative images resembling flashes from a near-death experience, it portrays a lone person facing their memories in a collapsing world - a metaphor for reckoning with one’s own history as everything falls apart.

In an age filled with fear, uncertainty, violence, and injustice, “Eight Hundred Years” captures the anxiety of losing what we take for granted — the end of normality itself. It’s as if we are born already aware that everything we know could vanish at any moment, powerless against fate... a fate that perhaps was written eight hundred years ago.
