Resa Saffa Park enlists Madrugada's Sivert Høyem for new single 'Under The Sun', new album 'Kendra' out 6th November

 Oslo-based singer/songwriter and composer Resa Saffa Park today shares 'Under The Sun' - a new collaboration with Sivert Høyem, frontman of seminal Norwegian rock band Madrugada. Co-written and produced by Bård Berg, the single is the latest track to be taken from Resa’s forthcoming album Kendra, out 6 November via Ja. Group.

Bringing together two of Norway’s most distinctive voices, 'Under The Sun' is a slow-burning duet carried by smoky guitars, brooding piano and understated synths. Resa’s intimate vocal meets Høyem’s unmistakable baritone as they reckon with the unsettling truth that nothing lasts forever - yet the song finds tenderness in that knowledge, resolving with the promise: "I can love you either way."

Speaking about the song, Resa Saffa Park said:

"Under The Sun is a song I wrote about the existential weight of life and death. It's about how short life is and how fragile we are, and how easy it is to become consumed by that awareness. It’s about all the things we do, both silly and meaningful, to feel alive, and the ways we try to outrun pain, vulnerability, and the inevitability of death. As dark as it might seem, I can find this very comforting."

Cinematic indie steeped in jazz and soul, Resa Saffa Park’s music sits at a distinctive intersection of modern and vintage influences - somewhere in the orbit of Tamino, Michelle Gurevich and Portishead, with inspiration drawn from Billie Holiday, Chet Baker, Nirvana, Mitski and Julia Jacklin.

A graduate of the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, Resa returned to her home city of Oslo to write her new album Kendra. Written largely in her apartment over the course of a year, the album finds her paying closer attention to the people around her. Across twelve songs, she keeps returning to the same question: how do we understand ourselves through other people?

Kendra finds Resa writing with a new sense of confidence, precision and emotional honesty, turning soured friendships, new love and questions of identity into her most fully realised work to date. Songwriting remains her clearest point of orientation - the place she returns to understand herself and the world around her.

"Music is the safest place I know," Resa says. "It’s the place I go to tap into my deepest self. I need music to be as close to art as it can be. You can tell the difference between songs written from a place of needing to create something, rather than wanting success or streams or attention."

Following the independent release of her 2025 full-length, Silver Bead Eyes, Resa has cultivated a devoted international audience, selling out headline shows in Turkey and performing across Stockholm, Milan, Paris, Copenhagen and London. Her music has received support from The Line of Best Fit, Ones To Watch, 1883 Magazine, Headliner and more.
