Scottish progressive rock outfit Long Earth return with their fourth studio album, Towards the Sky, due for release on 27 June 2026 via Bakeneko.

Renowned for their blend of symphonic keyboards, atmospheric guitars, and expansive songwriting, Long Earth continue to evolve their sound with the addition of ethereal female vocals and a revitalised rhythm section that brings fresh energy and depth to their music. The result is a powerful collection of melodic progressive rock epics inspired by astronomy, space exploration, and humanity's enduring drive to push beyond its limitations.

The arrival of vocalist Maaike Siegerist and drummer Kenny McCabe, alongside guitarist Renaldo McKim, bassist David McLachlan, and founder Mike Baxter, has ushered in an exciting new chapter for the band. Following a successful UK tour in 2025, including a performance described by TPA as a "fantastic set" at The Soundle Festival, Long Earth returned to the rehearsal room determined to create their most accomplished work yet.

The album's first single, "Breathless", will be released on 7 June 2026 across all major streaming platforms and Bandcamp. The accompanying music video will premiere the same day on YouTube, while album pre-orders will open at: https://longearth.bandcamp.com

Inspired by the transformative experiences of astronauts who have viewed Earth from space, "Breathless" combines classic synthesiser textures, atmospheric guitar solos, and a powerful message about perspective, unity, and the fragility of our planet.
