Riot Channels Their Raw Energy Into Uplifting, Heavy-Hitting Drum & Bass Single "Everynight on Gud Vibrations

Los Angeles-based bass music duo RIOT returns with their latest sonic assault, “Everynight,” dropping February 28 via Gud Vibrations, the powerhouse label founded by NGHTMRE and SLANDER. Known for their progressive melodies, snarling basslines, and an uncompromising approach to low-end sound design, Tom Davidson and Daniel Magid once again push the boundaries of bass music—this time, with a high-voltage drum and bass hybrid designed to electrify both festival stages and underground raves.

“Everynight” is a relentless journey through dissonant synths, searing low-end textures, and a call-and-response interplay between male and female vocals, adding a dramatic storytelling element to the track. The tension is palpable, reflecting an unfolding narrative: rebels awakening to the Machine’s manipulation, setting the stage for an inevitable clash. This raw, cinematic energy is woven into RIOT’s signature fusion of metal-inspired aggression and melodic intricacy, creating a track that’s both high-impact and emotionally gripping.

Digging into the new direction they took with their latest drum & bass-infused offering, RIOT explains: “With ‘Everynight,’ we wanted to create a track that felt both energetic and uplifting—like a journey through a world that never sleeps. Following our previous release ‘Back To Back,’ we wanted to explore the same raw energy in another form. This song is built to be played on repeat, and we can’t wait to hear you all singing along at our live shows. This is just the start of what’s coming in 2025!”

The release arrives hot on the heels of their aforementioned single “Back To Back,” a bass-heavy anthem that turned heads across the scene with support from UKF, The Dub Rebellion, This Song Slaps, and Indie Dream, among others. But “Everynight” is more than just a follow-up: it’s a statement. The duo has never been one to conform, and this single cements their reputation for challenging the status quo of bass music’s heaviest subgenres.

RIOT’s resume speaks for itself. Their 2019 debut album ‘Dogma Resistance’ has amassed over 85 million streams, while their anthems “Wake Up” with Kayzo and “You Don’t Even Know Me” with label co-founders SLANDER have dominated streaming platforms, the latter securing a Top 10 spot on the iTunes Dance Charts. Their ability to seamlessly blend brutal sound design with cinematic storytelling has led to collaborations with Franky Nuts, Dirtyphonics, NGHTMRE, Blanke, and official remixes for Illenium, Knife Party, Infected Mushroom, and Pegboard Nerds.

With upcoming performances in Osaka and festival slots at Dancefestopia, Lionheart, Thunderdome, and Artikfest, RIOT’s 2025 is shaping up to be a defining chapter in their career. “Everynight” sets the tone for what’s ahead, reinforcing their reputation as one of bass music’s most forward-thinking acts.
