Robbie Williams releases "Better Man [Original Motion Picture Soundtrack]"

Robbie Williams’ 'Better Man (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)' album is out now digitally via Columbia Records.

The album features new versions of Robbie’s biggest and most loved songs which have been re-recorded and arranged especially for the movie, including ‘Angels’, ‘She’s the One’ and ‘Rock DJ’. The record also features the new song ‘Forbidden Road’ which is featured at the end of the film. Co-written by Robbie with Freddy Wexler and Sacha Skarbek, and produced by Dan Romer and Freddy Wexler, ‘Forbidden Road’ has been included in the shortlist for next year’s Academy Awards in the category for Music (Original Song), and been nominated in the Best Original Song (Motion Picture) category at the Golden Globes.

The artwork for the soundtrack album mirrors the film poster - an homage to Williams’ unforgettable album cover, ‘Life Thru a Lens’. The film poster and soundtrack artwork sees Williams portrayed as he is seen throughout the entire film - as a CGI monkey. Discussing the film, director Michael Gracey honed in on Robbie referring to himself as a monkey over and again. He said: “Robbie would say things like, ‘I’m up the back dancing like a monkey.’ After a while, I thought, ‘Wouldn’t it be amazing to represent Robbie as a monkey in the film?’ Because Robbie is telling this story – and that’s how he sees himself.” Watch the trailer for the film here.
