Ruben Block new single 'That's Just The Way'

Ruben Block — super-talent and rock star in Belgium, the Netherlands and neighbouring countries, dedicated singer/guitarist and frontman of rock phenomenon Triggerfinger — is gearing up for the release of his solo debut album ‘Looking To Glide’. The brand-new single ‘That’s Just The Way’ is 3 minutes of groovy and seductive rock with an offbeat guitar riff, Ruben’s alluring vocals and a killer chorus. It’s the perfect synthesis of the album. It’s rock & roll you can dance to, it’s pop music with weird twists and turns. It’s a total banger!

The album ‘Looking To Glide’ will be released on September 30th, 2022 through [PIAS] Recordings.

Recorded and produced in LA with Mitchell Froom (Elvis Costello, Randy Newman, Crowded House, Los Lobos) the album is erratic, sometimes dark, sometimes equipped with almost cubist-sounding riffs, armed with small vocal hooks, and texts in which light and darkness take each other by the hand and form a strange dance. Froom beautifully described that combination of gloomy and cheerfulness as Ruben’s “instinct to keep the worry out of it”.

It’s not instant soup, nor instant coffee music, but songs that have been worked on for a long time and with growing pleasure. It might be dark and twisted at times, but its primarily a lot of fun!
