Said The Sky shares new single & music video for “Treading Water”
An evocative single about a relationship falling apart, “Treading Water” is the latest single from electronic pop act Said The Sky.
The music video is the second in a series, and follows the video for "We Know Who We Are" which depicts a group of misfits hanging around LA, and introduces a couple starting a new relationship. That same couple is featured in the video for “Treading Water,” but this time with lyrics of a heartbreaking and tumultuous relationship, cut together with scenes of both intimacy and upset. “Treading Water” shows off Said The Sky’s beloved melancholy melodic production, which pairs perfectly with the song’s poignant vocals.
“While a lot of the music I’m sitting on is definitely a little left of center, I think Treading Water feels like early Said The Sky days. I hope people that hear it can find it sounds somewhat familiar, unlike my last release, "We Know Who We Are," which for me was a bit of a step in a different direction and something I plan on digging into more.” - Said The Sky
Initially known for his elite melodic bass which first gained him recognition, Said The Sky’s catalogue is now evolving into a softer indie electronic sound. “Treading Water” features his top notch production, but showcases a new sonic beginning for the producer of which there is much more to come.
While 2021 holds promise of lots of new music from Said The Sky, the producer also recently sold out his first headlining show at Red Rocks (his hometown) in September, as well as other festival appearances at Beyond Wonderland PNW, Spring Awakening, and Slander’s new event Starscape Festival.
