samxemma release new EP 'Us Forever' via September Recordings. Focus single 'Simple Solution' out now

Manchester-based electronic/pop duo samxemma today release their new EP 'Us Forever' via September Recordings (Obongjayar, For Those I Love). Alongside the release, the duo share focus track 'Simple Solution', a recent addition that ultimately became the missing piece tying the EP together.

Built around samxemma’s signature collision of emotionally unfiltered songwriting and restless electronic production, the track sees Emma delivering a letter to herself - an attempt to move forward whilst everything felt like it was falling apart. On the focus track, Emma said: "‘Simple Solution’ was written only a few weeks ago and it ended up being the missing piece that tied the whole EP together. It’s basically a letter to myself to just get over shit."

Arriving via esteemed tastemaker label September Recordings, ‘Us Forever’ expands on the maximalist emotional terrain samxemma have carved out across recent releases - with singles 'YOU KNOW I LOVE YOU', 'Me forever :(' and 'SEE SEE WHERE WE GO' all featuring on the EP.

Written across different headspaces and timelines, the project captures a spectrum of impulses: post-show comedowns, self-image struggles, lingering relationship fallout, and moments of defiant self-reclamation.

On the EP, Emma said: "The overall theme is trying to turn impending doom into hope for the future. It was honestly a bit of a happy accident that these songs ended up together. They were all written at different times and in different emotional places, so it captures a whole range of feelings."

Sonically, the EP pushes further into duality: high-energy electronic peaks alongside moments of stark vulnerability, including stripped-back writing that foregrounds Emma’s most personal reflections to date - most notably on ‘Palm Springs’, which confronts long-held insecurities around self-image.

'Us Forever' arrives amid a breakout run for the duo, reaffirming their place among UK pop’s most unpredictable new voices. Blending high-impact electronic pop with emotional candour, the EP places Emma’s unfiltered reflections on insecurity and self-worth at its core. As Emma explains: "I just wanted to get those feelings off my chest. I hope people feel like they’re not alone in doubting themselves, and that you can still have fun and be a likeable person even when it feels like everything’s gone to shit."

Formed between Northampton (Sam) and San Diego (Emma), and now rooted in Manchester, samxemma first introduced their shapeshifting DIY pop world via self-released 2023 debut EP 'Athens', with their boundary-crashing second EP 'HOT PEOPLE MAKE HOT MUSIC' arriving in 2025 - their first for September Recordings.

Since then they’ve sold out headline shows in Manchester and London, been selected as a ReBalance artist by Festival Republic, performed at The Great Escape, Latitude Festival, Live at Leeds In The City, Beyond The Music and Kendal Calling, and received support from Dork (HYPE Cover), Wonderland, Notion, The Line of Best Fit, DIY Magazine and Popjustice, alongside being named BBC Radio 1's Introducing Artist of the Week and one of Spotify's First Listen RADAR artists.
