Sara Cruz unveils debut album 'Fourteen Forty-Five'

Azorean singer-songwriter Sara Cruz unveils debut album 'Fourteen Forty-Five' this Friday, October 18. Released by label Locomotiva Azul, the album is available on all digital platforms and as a Limited Edition 180-Gram Pearl White Vinyl.

As an Azorean who was born and raised in the middle of the Atlantic, between Europe and North America, Sara Cruz reveals her debut album, Fourteen Forty-Five. The artist incorporates the rich influence of North American folk into her work, which, intertwined with the pop and singer-songwriter universe, gives the album a contemporary, international, and captivating sound, while always integrating her roots and origins into her compositions.

Fourteen Forty-Five refers to the approximate distance, in kilometers, that separates Ponta Delgada, the artist’s hometown, from Lisbon, the city where she has been based in recent years and where this album took shape. This number is more than just a geographical measure; it reflects the duality between the two territories and the artist’s journey, as she has divided her life between these two cities and realities, both rich in emotional experiences.

Produced by fellow Azorean Cristóvam, Fourteen Forty-Five was meticulously crafted, with Sara Cruz's songs and Cristóvam's production coming together to create a remarkable and authentic album. Each track on this album reflects how Sara Cruz has lived and felt her life between the Atlantic and the world, something that can be heard in the singles already released by the singer: "Day or Two", "Faithful", "Grass Is Greener", "Plot Holes", and "The Show". This first edition will be available on all digital platforms, as well as in a special edition on 180-gram pearl white vinyl.

To celebrate the release, Sara Cruz will perform the album live in Ovar at the event Ovar Expande 2024, followed by a series of performances at Fnac stores in Portugal, including Lisbon, Cascais, and Almada.
