SHRÜM: Debut Album From Louisiana Sludge Supergroup Ft. Former Members of Acid Bath, Devourment, etc. Now Available On Streaming Services

Louisiana sludge supergroup SHRÜM is proud to announce that its 1997 debut album Red Devils and Purple Ringers is finally available on all digital streaming services. LISTEN TO THE DERANGED MADNESS OF THE PSYCHEDELIC FUNGICIDAL BAYOU NIGHTMARE HERE

Mostly known as the side project of Acid Bath bassist Audie Pitre, the band is an American industrial/psychedelic death machine consisting of former members of Devourment, Disincarnate and others. Recorded by Keith Falgout (Acid Bath, Crowbar, Goatwhore), Red Devils and Purple Ringers is a 30-minute cult classic featuring dual bass guitar leads, fiendish vocals and a trippy psychedelic undertone.

SHRÜM was formed in the southern swamps of Louisiana in the late '90s by Acid Bath bassist Audie Pitre and Disincarnate drummer Tommy Viator from the idea of creating a band without guitars. During this time, the band found Joseph Fontenot, who later joined Texas grind experts Devourment. Searching for a vocalist, the trio originally auditioned Acid Bath vocalist Dax Riggs before asking Scott Leger to try his luck. With minor adjustments to his vocal style, the SHRÜM sound was officially born.

After writing an album's worth of material together, the band set its sights on playing shows before Audie and his parents were sadly taken from us on Jan. 23, 1997 by a fourth-offense drunk driver. Not long after Audie's passing, the band entered the studio with Keith Falgout to record their sole release, Red Devils and Purple Ringers. Nearly 23 years later, SHRÜM stands the test of time and has become a legendary and severely underrated icon of the sludge subgenre.

Red Devils and Purple Ringers will make its way on all digital streaming platforms for the first time over the next several weeks.
