Ten years after ‘All My Demons Greeting Me As A Friend’ first introduced AURORA’s extraordinary musical universe to a global audience, the Norwegian artist is returning to where it all began with the release of ‘All My Demons Greeting Me As A Friend (The Moth Tapes)’, featuring the album’s previously unreleased title track, as well as special alternative versions of some of the most beloved tracks from that era. The release lands on 25th September 2026 with a unique moth inspired vinyl pressing.

Built from intimate early recordings, demos and previously unheard material from the original era, ‘The Moth Tapes’ opens AURORA’s archive to offer a new perspective on the creative foundations of her landmark debut and on the beginnings of an artistic journey that has since taken her around the world. Collaborators on the project include long term musical partners such as Magnus Skylstad and Odd Martin, as well as Michelle Leonard and Sacha Skarbek.

Originally released in 2016, ‘All My Demons Greeting Me As A Friend’ established AURORA as one of the most singular new voices in music. Songs including ‘Runaway’ and ‘Running With The Wolves’ became enduring fan favourites, introducing the themes, sounds and visual language that would continue to evolve throughout her career.

A decade later, that music is not simply being remembered, it continues to find new audiences.

AURORA comments, “It's been over ten years since I wrote these songs, many stories have been long lost and now some of them will find their way into your hearts. It feels vulnerable to release something unrefined, but I know sometimes that is what people need the most. I hope these songs create and bring back some good memories for you all.”

‘Runaway’ is experiencing another extraordinary global resurgence in 2026, recently recording its biggest streaming day since its viral breakthrough in 2021. The song is currently charting on Shazam across markets including Nigeria, Vietnam, the Philippines, Norway, Indonesia and Thailand, alongside a global Shazam chart position inside the top 100, with over 3 billion combined streams on the track to date.

That journey mirrors AURORA’s own. From growing up in a small town in Norway and writing songs in solitude, she has grown into a truly global artist, building an international community of Warriors & Weirdos and taking her music to arena-scale audiences around the world.

‘The Moth Tapes’ now offers the opportunity to hear where that journey began.

Rather than simply revisiting the past, the collection illuminates the ideas and instincts already taking shape in a young AURORA, intimacy, nature, humanity, darkness, wonder and an instinctive desire to create a world entirely her own. Heard ten years later, these recordings form a bridge between the artist she was becoming and the artist she is today.

The release follows AURORA’s third book, released earlier this year to mark the tenth anniversary of ‘All My Demons Greeting Me As A Friend’, and continues a year-long celebration of the album and the world surrounding it.
