Curiosity Shop releases "Wandering Arrow"
Edinburgh based alt-folk five-piece Curiosity Shop today announce their debut EP Bound For The Sky, out on Friday 25th September via Fontana Records.
Bound For The Sky charts the journey of a group of wanderers finding their way together through luscious, ornate soundscapes and spine-tingling harmonies that blend new ideas with the traditions of the past. The EP was recorded with producer Kasper Sandstrøm (Divorce, Do Nothing) and mastered by Felix Davis (Cameron Winter, Geese, Westside Cowboy).
Of the EP, songwriter Sonny Scott shares, “These songs represent various moments in the period between Ruairidh and I meeting in school, journeying to the city to study music, and finding Yann, Duncan and Louis on the other side. Much of this time has been a time spent wandering, but now, more so than ever, I feel we have an understanding of where we are going.”
Fellow songwriter Ruairidh Wallace adds,“Musically it’s like a glimpse into the past, merged with our influences today. We all listen to and love music from before our time, and I think in the world we live in currently it’s a welcome glimpse.”

Today Curiosity Shop also unveil their new single and live performance video for ‘Wandering Arrow’ - the follow up to their first release ‘Crows’ - of which Wallace says: “When writing Wandering Arrow, I wasn't in a very focused place. I was drinking all the time, a lot of things were up in the air but I was still adamant that I would become a real musician, though I wasn't really finishing many songs. Wandering Arrow was one I finished. The first verses are an ode to the journey, its ups and downs, doing what you want, and not losing hope whilst simultaneously walking directly into the wind (words I needed at the time). The lyrics were about me, someone yet to find their feet but somehow always landing on them.”
The band have also announced their debut run of headline tour dates, eight shows taking place across Ireland and the UK in September and November respectively with tickets for their London show already sold out. Remaining tickets are on sale now, see below for full list of dates.

Curiosity Shop is a five piece alt-folk band, each from a different corner of Scotland.
Songwriters Ruairidh Wallace and Sonny Scott met as teenagers living in rural Campbelltown on the Scottish peninsula of Kintyre. The pair spent their teenage years honing their craft, later moving to Edinburgh to study music where they formed friendships with drummer Duncan Biggar, bassist Louis Taige and Yann McAuley - a versatile instrumentalist, whose talents span accordion, flute, keys & harmonium.
In contrast with their rainy, dark and rural upbringings, their music is bright and full of life. Drawing from singer/songwriter influences, they also tap into the worlds of folk, jazz and trad. Their unique sound is defined by their use of warm vocal harmonies and acoustic instrumentation featuring acoustic guitar, double bass and accordion.
Since forming in early 2024, Curiosity Shop have performed at venues around Scotland, selling out their first four headline shows across Glasgow and Edinburgh in March this year with no music released. They supported alt-country darlings Divorce on tour across the UK in late 2025. They appear at festivals across the UK and Europe this summer, and have announced their debut headline tour across the UK and Ireland this Autumn.
