Cemments Colin: "Sometimes you know for sure that something has to change - you just don’t know what or how. While everyone else seems to have found their way long ago, you yourself lack direction. “Ziellos” captures exactly this feeling, without sugarcoating it or artificially resolving it. Somewhere out there, there has to be this oasis. But when you don’t have a compass, it’s damn hard to find it."
The song describes the feeling of being stuck while others seem to have found their way long ago. You find yourself questioning your daily life and wondering if you’re wasting your time on something that doesn’t fulfill you. Amid loneliness, self-doubt, and the fear of losing time, “Ziellos” searches for direction. The imagery of a distant oasis and a missing compass symbolizes the desire for change without a clear direction.
Musically, Snakes in the Pit translate this restlessness into driving melodic hardcore with fast riffs, powerful shouts, and an anthemic chorus that unabashedly conveys the song’s central dilemma. Yet “Ziellos” offers neither a simple answer nor a rallying cry. Rather, the song captures the moment when you realize things can’t go on like this—without yet knowing which path is the right one.
Following their socio-political debut single “Apokalypse,” the band is now turning its gaze more inward. “Ziellos” is a song for everyone who wonders whether they’re truly forging their own path.
Apokalypse is the band's second album. Following Hamburg City Hardcore (2024) and the EP Brothers’ Inn (2025), the Hamburg-based melodic hardcore band sound harder, darker and more massive on the new album than ever before.
