Soars returns with stormy video for instrumental epic, ‘Grow’

Soars has released a stratospheric new video for the project’s latest single ‘Grow’; a surging, seven-minute epic from his second album ‘Repeater’ which is set for release on November 17th via Berlin’s Pelagic Records.

The solo-project of renowned Swedish musician, songwriter and producer Kristian Karlsson (Cult of Luna, pg.lost), Soars is a deeply personal and long-awaited exploration of Karlsson’s craft.

A slow-burning, euphoric ascent of synthesisers and pulsating drums, ‘Grow’ sees Soars pushing his dynamic dexterity to new limits. Taking inspiration from cinematic masters Vangelis and Jean-Michelle Jarre, the icy melodies of ‘Grow’ collide spectacularly with post-rock power akin to the likes of Mogwai and Explosions in the Sky, rising triumphantly before inevitably falling, telling a breathtaking story without saying a word.

Karlsson released his first solo album ‘Enfold’ under the Soars moniker in 2021 and immediately turned heads in the post-rock world. ‘Repeater’ follows seamlessly on from the sell-out debut, propelled by the powerful drumming of Christian Augustin (Știu Nu Știu, live drummer of Cult of Luna) and Karlsson's charismatic command of the synthesizer. Despite being first envisioned in Karlsson’s kitchen, ‘Repeater’ picks you up without warning and drops you wide-eyed amongst neon-lit cityscapes that crackle with cyber-punk suspense.
