Sonny Fodera and Mat.Joe 's ‘The Real EP’ is out today

Australian DJ and producer Sonny Fodera has unveiled his new two-track production, ‘THE REAL EP’ working with long time friends and collaborators, Mat.Joe.

The release, out 18th August, is on Sonny’s own AARRIVAL label, and features 'The Real’ and ‘Get Away’, marking Sonny and Mat.Joe’s first collaboration since their Beatport No.1 selling remix of ‘Gershon Jackson’ on Strictly Rhythm - which stayed in the charts for well over a year.

Opening up with ‘The Real’, the track takes on a rolling tech groove, layered with intricately chopped vocal samples leading to a huge drop in typical Sonny Fodera style. Joined by 'Get Away' on the EP, this track offers a stark contrast, giving things a more house-based feel, with trademark swinging drums and a tight vocal hook.

German duo Mat.Joe, aka. Matze and Johannes, first started producing in a Neukölln backyard in 2006. These days, Mat.Joe have found their own style, offering crispy house beats paired with rhythmic soul and hip hop elements. The result is deep and dancefloor-qualified, warm and rough.

Famed for his emotive brand of house that now resonates around the world, Sonny Fodera is perhaps well known for his association with the Defected In The House brand. A hugely in-demand DJ, Sonny has enjoyed another hectic year in 2017, with performances at Tomorrowland, Hideout Festival, and Lee Foss’ Repopulate Mars event as part of Miami Music Week. With Ibiza acting as a second home for the London-based Australian, Fodera is currently in the midst of several dates on the white isle, performing at Eden, Amnesia, Ibiza Rocks, and Sankeys. He is also scheduled to play at Creamfields, SW4 Festival, and The Warehouse Project as part of Hannah Wants’ ‘PLAY’ evening.
