Sorry release new track and video 'Tom Will Smack Your Ass'

Today, Sorry release new song ‘Tom Will Smack Your Ass’, alongside a video directed by FLASHA Prod (Asha Lorenz & Flo Webb). The song comes ahead of their forthcoming appearance at this year’s edition of Green Man Festival on Saturday.

A combination of nagging melodies and arch lyricism, ‘Tom Will Smack Your Ass’ is indicative of the approach of Sorry following their acclaimed 2025 album COSPLAY, a collection of tracks that found the band pushing characters to the forefront of their songwriting. Built around a bouncing piano line and vocalist Asha Lorenz’s dark vocals, ‘Tom Will Smack Your Ass’ weaves a cutting British caricature into the tale of a mythologised villain: Tom, ultimately, is a parody of the boy we all know.

Building on the ubiquity and satire of the Tom character, the video is a light-hearted montage of behinds being smacked. Asha shares: “No bums were harmed in the making of this video - thanks to everyone who contributed.”

The release follows the band’s acclaimed third album COSPLAY and double A-side single ‘Billy Elliot’ / ‘Alone in Cologne’. The album featured ‘Echoes’ and ‘Today Might Be The Hit’ which reached the A-list on BBC Radio 6 Music. The group subsequently went on full tours of both the UK and North America, including their biggest headline show to date at London’s Outernet Live. Stay tuned for more news.
