Inspired by a Simpsons episode in which Bart sells his soul to Milhouse, Spell Trouble's third single «ellout» brings the gloomy Halloween spirit straight into November. The song is driven by a steady bassline and claustrophobic, atmospheric synth melodies coming from far away in the background. The slightly detuned vintage synth and classic darkwave drum machines push the listener into a monotonous rat race that intensifies until the depressing, nostalgic vibe finally resolves into a beautiful, romantic ending, resembling a fever dream as the soul leaves the body.
