Stash releases new single 'Crystal Bowl Filled With Feathers' and announces release new album

Almost everyone remembers Stash from their monumental 2004 hit: "Sadness". However, it's less known that after a long hiatus, Stash returned in 2019 with a new album, "Wolfman!" This album, featuring a fresh band and a more song-focused approach, marked the comeback of Gunther Verspecht, Stash's lead singer and songwriter. Just as he was getting back into the groove, the COVID-19 pandemic hit.

But you can't keep a good man down. Gunther kept writing and planning, resulting in a new album where his songwriting and singing reached new heights. The album features personal and honest lyrics set to music that blends timelessness with contemporary sounds. The influences from past icons have matured into something uniquely Stash.

The new album is scheduled for release in the fall of 2024 (release date TBC) and is introduced with its first single: "Crystal Bowl Filled With Feathers". This track, like the rest of the album, developed organically from the synergy of the band members, emphasizing emotion and intuition over technical perfection. The lineup includes Gunther on guitar, Sara De Smedt on keyboards, Nils De Caster on lap steel, mandolin, and violin, David Broeders on drums and percussion, and Ht Roberts on bass and banjo. Everyone contributes vocals. While the spirit of bands like The Band is present, Stash remains original and authentic, never attempting to imitate.

With "Crystal Bowl Filled With Feathers" Stash aims to create a metaphorical image of someone lost, both literally and figuratively, unsure of where they are or how they got there. Tired of constantly looking back, they realize that only the present and future matter.

The crystal bowl represents the fragile yet seemingly heavy shell containing the light feathers of the past. Each down feather, compressed from billions of others, ultimately weighs more than the bowl itself. The message is clear: put the bowl down, step away, and move forward, lighter and as the best version of yourself, because you are enough.
